ceiling lights in Kitchen

We have a 'tunnel' skylight directly above a fairly large island. We do have ceiling can lights but when sitting there I nearly always wish for more direct light especially when reading. The sides of this 'tunnel' skylight are not vertical but slanted. I am thinking of putting two or three 'hanging' lights in but is it possible to install on a slant but have the actual light hang straight? Thanks

Are you asking if pendant lights can be mounted on a slanted ceiling? If so, the answer is yes, you just have to find lights that have a canopy designed for vaulted ceilings that pivot so the pole hangs straight. But it sounds like the island is mounted on center with the skylights. If so, you might be better off installing a rail system on either side of the skylight with either hanging pendants or pointable track lights. See photo below:
