Peter, Have seen anything quite like this. Have seen ones with green blisters under the skin and no definitive diagnosis.

I would be tempted to bin it. Burn it.

No idea here either but that looks like something I wouldn't want to spread to my other plants. Yeah.

Awww I'm sorry peter, I'd prob bin it too as I'd be terrified that it would spread..but you can also put it way way far away (like really far.) behind your garage or something and see what happens lol I'm curious as to what that is and if it would recover..but definitely couldn't do it where I am as I have plants EVERYWHERE lol ..so sorry again for your loss RIP little guy

Just got home from a great day ,once a year Barruta orchids open there doors to the public

there is five green houses this big every colour and shape plants started at $10.00Aust my wife is the orchid freak we came home with 8 i wish someone would open a DR farm like this near me:×) now it's time to get rid of poxy DR. Sarah i have to many plants to risk others, if the forum cannot ID whats wrong it goes just add it to the freaky deformed plants i have:×)

This may explain the problem i just pulled the plant found this

no roots and green mould growing this is one that got root rot during winter i trimmed up and dried but i have never struck the blistering before:×(

Maybe some fungal on it.

It had green patches on it like when oranges go off .

Those orchids are beautiful. I saw nice ones at Bunnings.
