I think it looks like a nice, clean and functional kitchen. If you are planning to sell, I wouldn't do much. Perhaps a new faucet. Only change the backsplash if you remove the four inch one that is already there. The cabinet hardware could be a little more modern, but I think it's fine as is. Agree, pics with the current paint color would be helpful.

Black and white combination is convincing, but brown and white is hard to capture how I feel about it.

Hi, I like the open plan concept of your kitchen, but it is a little dated. I am putting in a new kitchen today and it's white! A few things. Is there an IKEA near you? They have contemporary, but inexpensive cabinet hardware. I would go for straighter handles. There's really nice backsplashes out there. Have you considered sheets of glass? I was quoted EUR200 for mine which is a lot cheaper than stone and is very modern. You'd probably want to get rid of the 4" at the same time. New sink and faucet is a must. If you replace one appliance, I would do the stove and take out the cabinet on top and put in a nice stainless steel hood as a feature. I live in Ireland, but I lived in the Caribbean so I know all about buying American v European appliances. In Europe, you don't have to spend as much money on appliances because everyone integrates them into their kitchen for a more streamlined look. No one know if there is a cheap appliance behind the kitchen cabinet. If you could change your cabinet doors for high gloss that would give it a completely new look.

I would simply change out the faucet and hardware and leave it at that. If you were able to remove the 4" laminate backsplash and square white tiles, you might consider a new backsplash but if the backsplash is integrated into the countertop, I would leave it as is. You might consider changing your microwave to white so it blends in a bit better with the cabinets. When it's time to sell, a pretty bowl of fruit and a vase of fresh flowers is all you'll need.

Thanks for the responses. I'll have to take a photo of the current colour but the kitchen is quite cluttered right now. it's basically 'builder' beige that used to be very popular.

I think I'll start with the door hardware, faucet and backsplash and then re-access to see if more needs to be done. I just didn't want to spend money if it wasn't really necessary so it was great to get other's opinions.

Now finding the right backsplash tile will be another thing...
