Opinions pls. could this be Scale?

Or is it mechanical damage of some kind? Doesn't really scrape off w/ my fingernails. tho' I did try. I've never had scale before so pls weigh in w/ your opinions.

This was a Sans Moonshine generously shared w/ me, had 2 pups which I removed.

See the spots on some of the upper most leaves?

It's otherwise a nice plant, I like its shape.

I've got it isolated in an unused office at work. It seems otherwise just fine.

It's definitely not getting worse. I gave it a fair amount of water once I saw it got a bit wrinkly & it's filled out nicely.

sans get spots like that sometimes. your pics are a bit fuzzy. if they are sunken - that can be fungal, if raised bumpy and you can't scratch them off - it's not scale.

Do some stick up a bit, and can those kind be picked off with a fingernail? If not, it isn't scale. It almost just looks like it got hit or bumped to me.

They do stick up a bit, but don't scratch off w/ fingernail, I did try.

Think I'll just leave it where it is for another month or 2 & let it settle.

It does resemble what your pic shows. I was hoping to find proof it was not scale, darn it. I hope they are not too big a hassle to wipe out for you, if you feel it is scale. Please let us know how it turns out.

Uncertain what it is- but I would spot treat any bumps with a dab of alcohol on a Qtip just to be sure.

Thx for asking. They're raised & bumpy, but don't scratch off. So I'll assume it's not scale, thx everybody.

I did initially treat w/ alcohol. It's in the Office, so no Q-tips, I just wiped the affected areas w/ alcohol on paper towels & wiped hard. So far so good.

And encouragingly, its new growth is doing well, a nicely developed rosette type center. Maybe more pix soon.

That's great. For me in my climate, Sans only put on good growth from summer to fall, so every leaf is so precious. Glad it is still growing well.

Here's an update, latest pix.

Oops, not the sharpest focus, but it seems fine, new, inner growth looks pristine. So glad it seems OK.

I think this may be the loveliest Moonshine I have ever seen. I just love it. I have a tiny one on it's second year. It's so slow for me. Holding out for more excitement from it outside next spring.

I am in Western Washington, south of Olympia out in the sticks. This time of year is so dark and damp, I feel like I may get powdery mildew. sigh.

Sansevieria do best with bright light and heat- they will tolerate lesser conditions but grow very slowly in them.
