Master Bedroom Ceiling Advice

So I am putting in a piece of steel in the hip of my master ceiling (see attached photo, line in green).

Essentially I will be able to vault my en suite hallway and master bedroom when this is done. I have a balloon framed house.

Any advice or design ideas as to how I can finish this ceiling ?

The piece of metal will protrude from the framing appx 2". I can either pack all of the framing down to be flush or do something cool with the steel (i.e.: trim it with old wood)

Not to sure what to do it will be vaulted with a bunch of angles. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Please post pics of how the room is finished and decor, or inspirations pics. This would help in suggesting ideas that mesh with your concept.

Right now it is completely gutted steel is being delivered tomorrow.

I suggest not trying to hide it but treating it like an architectural feature (which it is). Like the second picture, you could case it and paint it a few shades darker it more saturated than your wall color, with the rest of the ceiling painted white. You could also put in a parallel (further along the ceiling) or perpendicular cased soffit if it needs something to complete the space.

Additionally you could put something on the ceiling (shiplap comes to mind although I'm generally not a fan of if), then conceal some lighting on the cased beam to illuminate the ceiling highlighting the covering you've installed. The lights should be dim and pointed upward so as to contribute to the ambience without shining in your eyes and could be used for soft lighting in the bedroom.
