I love your mural and became very familiar with the work of Guimard too when I had to do a research paper on his work........ the sinuous, naturalistic and slender curves that embody Art Nouveau. He surely transformed the city's Metro. :) In regard to the shelves you want to build, I think it would be hard to mimic the art nouveau styling without a fair amount of expense due to the curving iron work typical of the style. However, you could compliment it with shelves that have whimsy, share the same color palette as the mural or leans toward the next era of furniture style of art deco/ modern. Thanks I like that third phot. - I know that I couldn't duplicate the curves, but what I was thinking of was possibly a very dark green or black metal or plastic pipe, to hold the shelves, or something like that, but I don't know what would be inexpensive but still give me that look. Or maybe black pipe with rubbed highlights. Do you have any examples of something like what I am thinking of?

I understand what you wish to go for in the design but worry that it might look a little too industrial and bulky next to the fluid nature of the mural. Perhaps going with glass shelves might do the trick? Thinking the the green cast the tempered glass gives off might blend with the green metal and glass awning of the mural. Could be fairly inexpensive and varying the heights and widths could add visual interest without overwhelming the mural.

I'd like to thank everyone for helping me move in the right direction - I have found what I wanted - never thought to look for "baker's rack" and found it on Amazon.

Here is what I ordered which leaf motif matches the Sycamore Arched Metal Headboard I ordered from Houzz and the similar leaf motif on the overhead light I ordered from Lowe's:

Oh, I love the look of this. Can you post a follow-up once you receive it? I've been looking at baker's racks --- for storage/display, but the "vintage" ones at auction got away.

Here is the resulting follow-up picture with baker's racks one on each side of the bed which will eventually have nick-knacks. I absolutely love the result.

I had my handy-man mount the baker's racks on legs to bring them over the top of the bed-side tables. He created the legs out of pvc pipe then painted them to match the racks then fastened them to the wall for safety.
