Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. First, I think I’ll buy one more PetSafe Scat Mat and put it on the left side in front of the curtains when I close them. I’ll remove that Scat Mat in the morning when I draw the curtains part way open. I won’t put the double sided sticky tape on the left side of the window ledge.

I’ll check the back of the curtains each morning to make sure my cat hasn’t left any brown stains. If there are stains, I’ll try to clean them off while they’re fresh. When I first noticed the stains, they’d been there several days and were very hard to clean. Plain water didn’t do the trick. Do you have any suggestions for something I could use to remove the stains? My cat eats dry food, but it’s special food for Persian cats, and she also drools.

If that doesn’t work, I’ll need to have the sheers removed and stored, at least for the winter months. I don’t have the tube that came with the curtains. The installer took it with him.

i wish I had known about this problem with my cat before I bought the Luminette sheers. They look very nice and I like them, except for this problem.

What clothing stain pretreatment solution would you recommend?

Yes, Shout would work. I prefer natural stain removers. Try Seventh Generation or Method if you can find them.

There is a spray you can use to deter chewing on most items in the house as for storing drapes or blinds the best is to hang the drapes on a hanger and fold up the blinds as if they were closed and wrap in saran and put in a closet
