Area below induction cooktop

I recently purchased an induction cooktop. I have a utensil drawer immediately below it, and then two pot storage drawers below. The salesman at the appliance store also owns an induction cooktop (so he says) and told me that I will not be able to store my metal utensils in the drawer below the cooktop in case they are conductive and get hot when the burners are on. I don't see anything like this mentioned in the manual. Does anyone here with experience have any knowledge to share? I really would hate to move my cooking utensils away from this beautiful large drawer.
