have you considered a white to match the stuff between the logs and soapstone or a wood counter? swoon...

I would consider a white. The chinking is a light gray color, (like cement). Pic makes it look lighter, I think. The logs are lodge pole pine, the pic made the logs look a bit lighter, too. No wood counters, we have enough wood LOL! Soapstone is too soft, etc for us.

That's a beautiful counter, I wonder if it's a natural stone.

If you want cherry, then don’t stain it at all. It is much too pretty to obscure the grain with a dark stain. Natural cherry is gorgeous!

All of those are too dark for a log home. Log home’s can very into wood overload very quickly if you are not careful. Another choice might be a painted gray beige rather than a white.

I'm open to other woods. Cabinet guy also suggested hickory it but would be too busy unless it was stained. Most people like the busy grain so don't stain it.
