It's a new hosta with great promise, but no hostas will look as "blue" late in the year as they do in spring.

This is the best pic I could find. Joyride is at the base of the pine tree. You can compare it to Permanent Wave in the foreground for color and uprightness.

It’s a worse pic than I thought, but the Hosta is nice. Only second season in my garden and doing well.

Its very vigorous and maintains its powdery blue colour for a long time.

Mine is green not blue. It's a third year plant and has a growth habit that I find interesting. It has nice "waves" and would probably fit your needs. Mine grows in a spot with morning sun so it's never powdery blue.

Thanks! I bought it and planted it the day before yesterday. It is grouped with a small gold (Prairie Moon: smooth, narrow leaves) and a June. So I am hoping for a good color contrast plus leaf shape contrast. I have other small blues (Halcyon maybe’s – that I wasn’t sure were actually Halcyon, so I moved to this bed) nearby so I wanted something a little different as to shape, but still blue.

My only hesitation is this area is more moist than anything else I have. Water drains into this area on the way to the storm sewer. I have never planted a hosta here before. The June is a little upslope. Solomon’s Seal and a few other woodland plants like ferns are doing fine.
