Lovely home! Simple refreshing; hide trash cans, new larger light over garage doors, remove stickers on glass on garage doors, new landscaping by walkway, new less colonial light by walk.

Another update would be a more classic front door in a beautiful wood. Your door looks a bit mid century modern yet the house appears traditional.

Paint the shutters a matching white, Wedgwood or bright navy blue, or forest green. Straighten up the lamppost with new concrete base, add a new coat of shiny black paint on the pole, clean its windows, and change the bulbs. Clean up the landscaping around the staircase by removing all empty pots and small decorative things, then prune the privets a foot back from the walkway. Move the trashcans.

In the spring, consider hiring a designer at the local garden center to recommend new plantings all along the front. Additional walkway lighting at the base of the steps could be solar.

A beautiful pot of seasonal flowers or winter pines would be quite lovely with this classic brick house.

Where is the damaged brick? Is there a pile of extra brick in the garage or back yard being used for a walkway, by any chance?

Under the steps the bricks are turning gray.

It looks like the understep bricks don't quite match the house bricks. Consulting a professional mason would be a good idea.

Have the discolored bricks power washed to see if they can be restored in color. You might want to do the whole house and steps while you are at it. Remove the walk lamp. Rehome the waste cans. Remove the short hedges. Consider a dynamic blue for the shutters and door...like BM Chicago Blues 804.

I would remove the shutters since they're too small, especially for the bay window. I agree that power washing the brick may help. It could be that if you salt your steps and landing the melting snow and salt have discolored them. I would change all three light fixtures (front door, garage, and light post) so they match. Adding urns at each side of the bottom of the steps like apple pie order showed would welcome folks up the steps and into your home. I like your front door in white. I agree with hiding the trash cans.

The front door is original with the house (1952) . The shutters I think,
as was suggested should come down.
I like the idea of all the same light fixtures.

The colors in the house are greens. Should
the front door by a shade of green? Or solid black? I don’t have blues anywhere.

Paint the storm the door the same color so the white outline doesn't shrink the door but leave the trim and sidelite white.

No, keep the shutters. They belong to this style. Like Diane pointed out, a more traditional door wouldn't be amiss. Paint the door and the shutters in a dark forest green, like this:

Blue is usually only used with brick that is more red. But if you like it, this is about the color you need:

What you could do though, is go for a door and/or accents in 'ossenbloedrood' which means 'oxenbloodred'. It is a dark, rustybrown type of red and also original to such houses.

The color isn't totally fixed, so one can go pick ones own dark red instead. Like:

Both the green and the red (and the blue) are traditionally combined with off-white, which you already have. More and more people start using black nowadays, which you also have and makes it rather dark. I like the older, more colorful style best.

Again: where is this house? Are you from the USA? I guess such houses are rare there. So my guess is, that keeping it traditional would be the option that retains its value best. Actually that would also be valid in the Netherlands, where this style is everywhere on the countryside.
