Staircase stain dilemma, expresso or black?

Hello All,

I am having my staircase stained. I'd like to do the risers and pickets cloud white but am torn between black or expresso stain for the steps and posts.

I won't be in a position to change the tile for a few years so will need to make it work for now.

Neither. Both are too dark.

Go with expresso. It works well with most color schemes.

brown treads, black risers. replace spindles with wrought iron, or do the same as the stairs...black spindles and brown banister.

Light risers and dark steps will have a striped effect...white, dark, white, dark. May look pretty busy.
