Ha, ha, when I looked at your first pic I was wondering what kind of ground cover that red stuff was! Downed maple leaves, so pretty but probably not as good as they looked still in the tree.

Well at least it is still standing. Last year a tree was uprooted in my yard. Fell down and destroyed my neighbours fence. Insurance doesnt't cover

One of the most colorful moments of the year is the turning red of my Japanese Maple. This year I have red ground cover :-)

But I'm happy that nothing more serious happened. It was a really strong storm and in the neighbourhood a big old Thuja fell on the wooden fence and I'm not sure if insurance covers those things here in Germany.
