Will the new flooring replace the carpet too?

I would go with a darker wood look tile, not too dark but something that will bring out the kitchen cabinets etc. An 8"x24" wood look tile, would look great in that area. Do you have any ideas as to what you think you want?

What are you plans for the counter tops? I'm a little worried because they are reading pink/salmon on my monitor. Right now the sheet vinyl has the same colour in it (as well as a sad yellow) which is tying everything together in this space.

I would HIGHLY recommend looking at a new counter top once you are done with all the flooring. If you work with a medium/dark wood look tile (to work with your cabinets) then the counter top is going to stick out like a pink sore thumb.

Please think carefully about the counters because they will be next if you put in something that clashes with the pink counters.
