Can a 2009 Troy Built Mower be compared to a
2000 Quantum MTD?

  1. The Quantum has proven it’s toughness as a Back-up Mower. Using it 2-3 times a year for leaves or Etc is a challenge with the weight and pull to start. I could not ask for a Tougher Mower.
  2. My Week to Week Mower is a small Murray with
large rear wheels that has fail to start on the First Pull Twice since 06. It has been Light, Quick and ideal due to non-self propelled in this small yard.
  3. The Troy Built looks as if it could be Combo of my two. Less weight, Front Variable Self Propelled with large rear wheels for maneuvering (if it “Runs”).
  4. I feel it runs because it had fire, fuel, compression but had been sitting a while.
  5. My challenge is to try the “Monster” unless you might have some negatives from your experiences.
  6. I see my neighbor pivoting on the large rear wheels and moving backward vs dragging drive wheels.

The Donation was to be able to come back to me with personal equipment’s problems. As with this mower, it was probably left sitting a season (or months) with untreated fuel. I’ll help because it might give me another chance to try another 30” riding mower before I retire… These fellows have at least an acre to work vs my 70’X120’ lot… The Area’s Repair shop does not have the Patience and Time that I give them when I have time…
