I think I would prefer the look, size and light with the wider pendants.

Both are nice. I prefer the wider ones in that they echo the shape of your cupped drawer pulls.

I like the wider ones best as well.

Still like the last one-wider one, aesthetically it has nice lines and gives off good downward light. It depends on what the rest of your space looks like. The others are too dark but that could be the paint on the walls that make it look that way. Are they the same light? hard to tell. The one with the four lights looks better over a table than a work space. IMHO

Thanks everybody! My only concerns with the wider ones is that they are very close together (I read somewhere that 30" was good spacing between shades), and they look stumpier than the smaller ones because they are so wide at the end of a short rod. (the rod only hangs 18" from ceiling). But I guess based on feedback that these are not big concerns... thank you.

Oh, one other concern with the wide one is that it is 18" from the wall - I had planned to put a shelf there since the dead wall space looks weird to me for a peninsula... But if I put a shelf, then the wide lamps will only be 6 inches from the shelf!

So maybe the defining question should be: does a peninsula need a shelf or something on the wall it is attached to? Does the empty wall space look weird?

Beth, I don't think the empty wall space will look odd without a shelf, and a shelf would narrow your peninsula work area and close things in a bit, wouldn't it? You could always put up some art on that wall, or a chalkboard or something fairly flat if you want a bit of visual interest.

You're getting lots of love here for the wider ones, but you used the word "stumpier," which makes me think maybe you simply prefer the proportions of the narrower ones. In the long run, whichever shape makes you happiest is what I'd go with. But I wouldn't worry about the idea of having the lights 30 inches apart.
