I'd leave it as is for the time being. It seems to be a compromising cost saving on a full covered entry way and that's what I'd be looking at down the road. At this stage, wait until you have a finished home and you have some nice pot plants on either side of the front door to see how everything fits then. I'm no architect by any means, but I would be looking to add some height to the top of the door frame as well, but that opinion might change with the finished house too.

Not loving the stone but now that it is there I would wait to see but IMO you need some balance for all the stone so alarge portico at the front door might help I would not do a juliet balcony they make no sense under windows.

You are not going to like my comment. But to me this looks like several styles clashing and neither is complete.

It looks like you build the fireplace outside! The color of the stones ask for a warmer color on the sides, then this light grey, that just doesn't fit. Personally I do not get the arched window above the doors. And there is much more, that just isn't 'it'.
You are probably angry with my sincere honesty already. So I leave it at that.

Ok.. i misspoke and yes with that ledge above as is it looks like a fireplace.. thanks for the candor. What's still to be done though is a portico / overhang with two pillars on either side and ballustar on top.. similar to the way this looks (without balls on top of ballustar):

I was just curiuos as to what color to make the portico and pillars and what color to paint the front door. I'd like to tie it all together. I'm not sure what warmer color aside from grey makes it blend better, but open to hearing.

Thanks .. so when you say make "it" match the white trim, are you referring to the portico? I figured black would match as it can be fairly neutral. Also what do you mean by adding a bit of each of yellow and red? Finally, i like the blue you added.. gives it some pop. I was going to do "midnight blue" by benjamin moore for front door..

Ahh.. confused.. the sidelights aren't painted yet. Are you saying I should paint door one color and match side light trim with the trim around windows?

You can paint the sidelights the trim color or the door color. Depends what color you choose for the door.

The gray on your house has cool undertones that clash with the warmth of the stone. acm added red/yellow to the gray so it had warm undertones to match the stone better.

The portico will help make the house look complete. Normally I would suggest painting it your trim color, but your trim seems very white. I'm not feeling black for this house with the brown stone. Maybe a navy. Blue might help tie the brown and gray together.

So you are suggesting to color the portico navy? Or the front door color?

I was referring to the portico. You were considering black, right? I figured navy would be better, but similar to what you were thinking.
