Can you tell me what kind of blind you mean?

Normally, I would suggest panel drapery over the blinds to soften the window, but the baseboard heating elements will get in the way. Stick to the blinds.

Would a different type of softer shade make sense then? Also the front window is shorter than others, so would it be better to try to do something to add height?

Here's a combo of short curtains hung ceiling height, with a matching roman shade for the door.

Cordless cellular or pleated shades for windows. Minimal stack when fully raised.
