Worm Bin Bedding

Hi,
So I got like half a pound of red wigglers and I put them in a bedding of damp newspapers and rice straw. Then I saw a video talking about how the worm like a soft broken down bedding thats not so coarse, like peat moss or coconut coir. So, I moved all the bedding i had before (with the worms in them) to one side of the container and added damp peat moss to the other half. Now I have a couple of questions:
1) Are they going to be okay?
2) Should I feed them or would the rice straw, newspapers, carton and peat moss be enough for a while?
3)Will they migrate to the peat moss side (as I'm hoping) and eat away the other side?
