I would appreciate your help.stuck in deign.

Please help me in this design have no idea what to do.I started to paint furniture and start designing my own space a while ago. This is what I did until now but something is not working I can feel it as colours and setting.I know the armchair in the back do not match and I have too many colours .

I love it in general but looks too old now i would like to bring something modern , a mix of old and modern.

I really appreciate help and guidance.

Kind Regards

Simon

I admire your enthusiasm! There are several projects I should be tackling for my own dining room, but instead am procrastinating and enjoying your progress ;) I was thinking the same as Beth though... It will be much easier to paint those chairs without the current coverings on them, and then you won't have to worry that you're missing little spots on the edges that could possibly show after you recover them with new fabric. Are you going to do the recovering yourself? I have dining chairs to recover as well, but they're the kind with springs and I can't seem to find chairs similar enough to mine to know how to actually go about upholstering them. Similar chairs seem to be a real hassle to cover, so I'm hoping to find someone who can help me.

In my opinion it looks great. I love the way the lamp is balanced by the glass vases and the color of the vases look great against the white. The painting and the glass relate because of the color. I am very far from knowing how to decorate, but I do know when I like something and I like your grouping and bigger changes you have made. The room looks personal to me, that someone loves each item and made a personal statement. The bigger question is do you like it?

I LOVE IT and I want to THANK YOU to YOU ALL. I till work on chairs.soon update photos!

This has been so fun to watch your transformation! I hem and haw and think and you just DO! Love it so far! Do you have knobs for your dresser? I think something in gold would tie back to the mirror/black dresser nicely without being too stark of a contrast.

    Nice room.

The small round/octagon table/cabinet w/lamp on it seems out of place; perhaps it could be repurposed to a bedroom.

A "sofa table/desk" (wide but not deep) for something between those chairs against the wall would be a better fit.

If you need lamps there, choose tall a tall slim pair and center any art between them with the center of the art lower than the frame now hung on that wall and have any framed art or mirror sized for the space -- not too small in a large space and not too large in a small space.

Not a fan of carpet or rug beneath a dining table ... not ever (at least not if the table is actually used for dining).

    Is this make sense ?

Yes the knobs are beautiful. You've created a whole new room and it's wonderful, can't wait to see it completed. Kudos to you!!!!

It truly is amazing how fast you are working. I love the knobs and pulls. I especially like the mixing of the different types of hardware. The black relates to all the accessories and the glass and gold add the needed sparkle. I think you do know what you like and what looks good together.

I have one little noticing and that is paint drips. To make a paint job look really good there should be a clean sharp line between wall and moldings/ceilings etc. I would carefully go around the room and very carefully do a micro clean-up. It sound OCD but what an amazing difference it makes. The job goes from amateur to professional in seconds. I try and be a careful painter but always fail, so I spend a lot of time tidying up my paint jobs and always feel so happy after it's done.

With the radiator below the window, you might consider wood shutters or vertical wood blinds -- either of which would stop at the bottom of the window frame.

Wondering how it is going? Hoping to see more photos soon.

try removing the clock, for now, remove the smaller vases, and lets see what those two pictures look live above that table. you don't want a cluttered look,,,so play around with it. maybe the big one off to the left/center,,,and the smaller one and clock to the right.

    this one

the pic is too high. adjust it. eye level.

remove the little one on table. move lamp to the left so the cord isn't visible under table. move the vases to the right. take another picture.

can you hang the smaller pic along w/this one too? put them on top of each other, vertically.

Love what you are doing Simon! So fun to watch! I don't think I'd hang that painting. It's a little small. Can you stand it on the table and lean it against the wall? Maybe on an easel?

Tomorrow I ll bring the smaller one from
Frame store I ll put it under big one ?

much better w/the light on that side. gold frame still needs to be lower. try that first. if it needs more, maybe get the smaller one above it.

look at how these consoles are styled. this first one would look great in your room.

something a little bit longer for that wall would be nice.

on all of these pics, look how they've balanced the items, placement behind the console and types of items used. You one little picture is too small by itself, but doing both will fill in the spot better. try some plant items in your vase like they've done in these pictures.

look at this table, painted black, and this chair,,,all in black. love these for your room

measure them and make sure they both fit. but should be ok. you don't want something too big. just enough to fit comfortably under the table.
