I would go with stainless steel...classic

Designers and manufacturers are always looking for the new thing to entice people to spend a lot of money. Black stainless steel has been around at least since 2015. This finish is fingerprint resistant; however, the black oxide coating can scratch off to show the silver steel beneath. Your installers and you have to be more careful around it. There are variations in the black color between manufacturers, so you should buy all of your appliances from the same manufacturer. As hummingalong2 says, regular stainless is a classic. I would stick to stainless. And I would not yet commit to a mosaic back splash with ANY granite. The mosaic choice usually is a quick trip to "busy busy"

Sorry for the backsplash confusion. Very pale gray 3x9 glass subway tile grouted white. Walls may be modern or repose gray SW. would post a pic but it is at the rough in stage! Taking advantage of the Black Friday appliance pricing. My concern is with an extreme open floor plan, stainless may be too monochromatic. Thinking black stainless may give it some drama. I don’t want it to be a passing fad in a year that I will regret. Brand is Samsung.

IMO painted wood is just never a good idea since wood expands and contracts if painted cabinets are what you want have them made from MDF it paints well and also seems to chip less when done in a factory. I also agree plain stainless a much better choice always.lso no matter what kind of deal you get there is no one maker that makes every appliance well. Choose appliances for how you use them not because you get a deal, that is also the reason for going stainless every maker has it . As for drama create that with some awesome art and accessories.IMO a wite kitchen with black appliances is too much contrast.

Agree that for appliances you want to pick the function that fits your lifestyle, which usually means different manufacturers for each one. Keeping with regular stainless gives you maximum choice on all the other, more important, features.

Everything else in your kitchen is light and bright, so having black stainless would stick out. Plus, it can be hard to match between brands or if you have to replace them down the line. Go for regular stainless.

My vote is for classic stainless steel.

i dislike black appliances with light cabinets, and white appliances with dark cabinets... they end up looking way more 'choppy' than 'pop-y'. stick with regular stainless for all the reasons mentioned above.
