backsplash behind 48inch range

Redoing kitchen backsplash. We Using subway tile in all areas but we want to do something special behind range. I was thinking about framing in a herringbone pattern with tile frame sticks. Is there a size you recommend making the frame? The range is 48 inches. The space between the cabinets is 50 inches wide and 42 inches tall from the hood to the base.
