Anyone ever order from Alibaba?

After learning about using a concrete table in the kitchen, I saw this one on Alibaba -- Is this site legit? Anyone ever order from here?

Cheepchinesecrapola and access to your bank account and identity. What could possibly go wrong?

Alibaba is super sketchy. Their stuff isn't special. Do a google image search for concrete top trestle table and you'll see others. Here's one from Target. https://www.target.com/p/camilla-farmhouse-concrete-topped-trestle-dining-table-vintage-pine-inspire-q/-/A-52560832#lnk=sametab

BethH, did you buy one item or several. I’ve found a few things I wanted but quantity purchase was required.

i never found anybody that actually bought on aliexpress or alibaba.

I've actually ordered many household items from them. brass drain covers (unbelievable price and great quality) , cabinet hardware (again, great price and great quality) wallpaper, some other little stuff. Never have had an issue with shipment or payment. they have thousands of vendors, so make sure the one you pick has the stars on their rating. that means they've been 'screened' by the company and are reputable.

I've ordered a pallet of tile from AliBaba and that was also fine, but a pain in the butt, due to customs. when you click on the link, I think it's AliBaba? they're a bit different. again, that's a big item and needs to get shipped over here. verify you won't have to pay customs on it before ordering. That's a whole other ball of wax!

I ordered about 400 SF of marble tile from them. prices were great. and it's the same stuff you order here in the states, but 4X the price. I live near a port so I paid 200 fee to get it cleared and picked it up. it wasn't difficult, just a lengthy process. But I saved over 1500 or more, so to me it was worth it.

I've been looking on both sites, but the minimum quantities are high. Do you just search until you find one without a minimum? I'd like to test it out for a few door knobs...

Beth - Which site did you get the tile from?

this was the one I used for the drains, (there's another one too) but I don't know if they do doorknobs. I've never had an issue w/minimums, so just search until you find one that doesn't require it

this was the place for my tile. some are minimum, some aren't. I dealt w/Mary Gao and Joanne, as my rep. I actually had my carrara marble custom cut to my specs.

this is another...just check to make sure they are a Gold Star, Trade Assurance and verified.

I have ordered from them no problems not anything as heavy and large as a dining table. As for them having your info so does everyone else you buy from.

Yes, I have used them several times with no problems.

I have ordered some art supplies from them without problems.

It's China's version of Amazon. At least Amazon makes an effort to guard your info, I can't say the same for Alibaba. If you have problems with your items expect no customer service. And, like Amazon, they have a major counterfeiting problem. Finally, if you scroll down the page you will notice a link for "Get paid for your feedback".

90% of everything i have purchased from alibaba has been legit. When things are off, it has been fairly easy to return or get refunded...

has anyone used their lights for a house/building project.? Ive only ourchased some basic led systems for some diy project which were great, but have yet to make an order for lights on a major project.

We are building a house and I just ordered a set of 11 pendants from a company on Alibaba.com. Made sure it had the trust certificate in case I have a problem. Shipping cost more than the lights but it’s being delivered door to door. I’ll post here about the results but it’s likely to be a year before the lights are installed-we’re just now breaking ground.

@KDH Associates - I hope it works out for you! I’ve seen so many things I’d like to order through Alibaba - but always assumed that it woukdn’t work out. However, once I read Beth H’s comment about how she ordered her tile for her bathroom through them, I wish I would have tried it. Her bathroom tile is GORGEOUS!

Dmac1108 I have a huge list of things to buy but hadn’t thought about tile! Still looking for exterior light fixtures. Someone on another thread ordered doors and windows and loved what they got-not sure I’m brave enough for that.

KDH associates were you able to receive things you ordered from alibaba? Looking to understand if the site is legit as I will like something’s for my home on that website. Please let us know. Also, how is the quality?

Lighting can be a big issue in Canada it all has to have a CSA ticket or your insurance in a fire is void . I love some of the lighting but not worth having it start a fire so just make sure you find out if it meets criteria in the US or Canada
