I’m on the fence with the curtains and think you could probably do better, but I would want to get my bedding resolved first. Is the duvet cover white. Or are you going to find a cover for it? Then I would deal with the drapes and then the wall color in that order. That said, I love the idea of a soft melon or persimmion color. You could easily match up with a warmer gray or even an ivory and that would be very pretty and fresh.

My observations: A bed skirt with a pattern that includes your melon color and is gathered; can you raise your nightstands so they are at the same height of your mattress; lamps that are larger with the bottom of the shade about at the level of your melon pillow sham; a shag rug for texture or two rugs placed where the feet will land when getting out of bed. I think you can do better with the curtains and you want to have sheers the same color as your comforter. I wouldn't include a separate color for an accent wall.

Thx. Love the idea of a patterned bedskirt and definitely need new lamps. If I replace the curtains would you go with less color on the curtains and more color for the wall color? Any suggestions re color that would go with the melon as I really like that.

I am going to keep the white duvet cover. But am on the fence too about the curtains. They have to go but agree with you re the melon or persimmon color.

Yeah I’ve always loved the melon colors and am glad to see them starting to get popular again. If you’re going to keep the duvet white, one alternative would be to keep the curtains white as well and paint the walls a pretty melon color for contrast. These are the Smocked Curtains from Pottery Barn, they’re very soft and quiet looking.

Wow, what a difference a colorful rug makes. I was wanting to add teal with the melon color for accent and the rug does it. Can I get a rug like that at houzz? Also like the wall color. Is it a mid-tone tan? What you've suggested here plus the smocked curtains Lurkkiirish suggested would work.

Yes, definitely a different color bed skirt. After showing the rug selection to my husband (I guess he should have a say, ha!) he thought it was too bold. I like it. What do you think?

The alternative would be to go with a patterned bed skirt as Vistas interior Design suggests and a solid color rug. Choices, choices!

Lots of rugs out there to chose from. If hubby thinks the pattern is too bold, it should be fairly easy to find something with similar colors in a smaller pattern. The rug will help you pull together the different colors you are wanting to use in the room.

doctornancy....I talked my husband into the rug that you pictured and just purchased it. I will have to cook an extra special Thanksgiving meal to show my appreciation :)
