I don't see an advantage to doing so except maybe having them sprout a little earlier. Disadvantage is having to deal with planting tiny, delicate sprouts. So not something I would personally feel like doing when I could just plant the seeds in small containers and skip the unnecessary pre-sprouting and transplanting.

No advantage that I can see either. You will end up with tiny, delicate sprouted seeds which you'll need to prick out without harming the radicles. More trouble than it's worth imo.

Thank you all. This originated from the fact that I soaked some seeds overnight, but now my soil is not yet ready for planting. Either dump the seeds and start over, or figure out how to make it work by germinating them in a seed sprouter, lol.

I don't usually soak seeds for precisely that reason, and definitely not small ones. You have to know you can sow them immediately and life often gets in the way. They are also a faff to handle when wet.
