If they threw up leaves, then I would chalk it up to settling in and see what they do next year. Maybe throw some slow release fertilizer at it in the Spring while the leaves are growing.

I planted new bulbs this year (and have some I've had for many years), and due to drought there wasn't much to see (the flowers were very small). Maybe you missed them? They probably will flower next year, unless your siting doesn't suit them.

No I marked where they were. Textbook.conditions, water etc. Baffling..I've never known them to be temperamental.
