My herbal treatment for IBS-D

At one time I was eating Lomotil pills like candy, but for the past six months I have managed to cut back to two a week. I have been taking a tablespoon of homemade stomach bitters every morning, and flushing it down with a big gulp of Ginger Ale. The formula is:

2 teaspoons of Wormwood

1 teaspoon Colombo Root

1 teaspoon Gentian root

1 teaspoon Quassia

1 teaspoon Comfrey leaf

quarter teaspoon Goldenseal

1 teaspoon Maria Treben's Swedish Bitters

1 cup distilled water

half cup Chartreuse liqueur

Directions: In stainless steel or enamelware pan (with tight fitting lid) add in the water, Colombo, Gentian, & Quassia. Bring to a boil. Add in the remaining ingredients, lid it, remove from heat, and let stand til room temperature. Strain well a couple times. Bottle it, and keep in fridge.
