You are spot on about the panels. They serve to block out the fence behind the cabana as well as help create a cozier feeling in the cabana with a faux partition. Hi-love this look! Wondering if there are issues with the decomposed granite getting in the pool? We wanted to do something similar and our contractor said it would be too much sand in the pool.

The panels serve two functions. The primary function is to create the sense of enclosure...like a canaña. The second was to create privacy. Thanks for your question.
