Can you actually sit on that without it tipping forward? If so I would leave it open for a spot to put on ot off shoes or boots. I think your idea is funI would do the 2 other things you are thinking and then see if a pillow is needed or not.

As Patricia says, if installed that would be a perfect seat for putting on shoes, etc. I would actually put it in the corner near the kitchen though. Would give a guest leg room in case someone opened the door plus I worry it would look lonely on the wall by itself. It might fit in a smaller space better (although hopefully it will still get as much notice because it is a very cool piece). Can you put it in both places and take a picture? I like these accessories too, in addition to your cap/pennant.

I would add something with pinstripes, whether in the walls or a wall hanging incorporating that design. It is the pinstripes that are iconic, along with the logo and the stadium.

Love the chair. Re the antique pennant. I would either frame it ( there are simple black frames specifically for them ) or place in shadow box. Great idea to personalize your condo. Good luck!

I love it! My stepson and his wife have a long section of bench from a local stadium (not famous).

I love the Yankees pinstripe idea. A lumbar pillow made from a fabric like the uniform, would be great.

Also, love the pennant framed inside a shadow box so that it feels grown-up, rather than kids' room decor.

As for location, I have a black corner chair in my small front vestibule and it is used all the time. My son and his wife always have their children remove their shoes, so the chair is practical.

I'm showing you the photo of my setup so you can see the lidded basket. It's quite functional. Amazingly, that basket holds 3-4 pairs of my shoes so I can throw them on when I go out the door. (Yes, my art is too high, but it's temporary. The piece that was there is temporarily over my mantle.)
