I agree with acm...too many small things on display. Maybe find another spot for the ice skates and snowman on the hearth. Try the two trees together on one side of the TV, and the snowman on the other side. Remove everything else on the mantel. The cabinet tops need some editing, too. Maybe just some simple greenery with tiny white lights...that would be a nice fit with the art work on the walls. Those battery-powered "fairy" lights are amazing. I could see the cabinet tops with two matching baskets filled with the greens and lights.

The poinsettias acm mentioned could be nice flanking the firebox. However, I would just have the poinsettias, and remove the plaid boxes, ice skates and snowman.

Ok I did a little shopping tonight so excuse the price tags. The greenery I picked out for the sides I think is too small. I could either add the two pieces together to one side (and buy two more) or should I match the sides with the same greenery as on top of the mantel (the kind with ornaments)? Thoughts?

Also thoughts on hearth: Trees & presents? Trees & snowman? Or nothing? I have a one year old who is trying to walk so I’d like to avoid a poinsettia this year Incase she pulls it off and then I have to clean up dirt

Nicely done, Sarah! I agree with Beth...1 or 2 are both nice. Can you add some white lights to the greenery? Lots of places sell the battery-powered ones. I've bought most of mine at Target...the package says "Dewdrop Lights" and the brand is Phillips.

I like the presents, they add a little color.

Wrap the art on either side of the fireplace like presents. Once the holiday is over, unwrap the pictures.
