Not much, but I'll take it.

Any rain is better than none! We aren't expected to get much, but we'll take anything that manages to fall. It is awfully dry here and our Keetch Byram Drought Index numbers are starting to escalate more rapidly than we like.

In the meantime, Tim is out on his second fire call of the morning, and he just asked for another firefighter to bring a tanker which signals this is not a little fire he can knock down with one brush rig's 250 or 300 gallons of water, so I started checking wind speeds. With wind blowing at 17 mph out of the south and gusting to 30, I'm worried the wind is going to push the grassfire towards homes and barns, so I'm at home monitoring radio traffic to see if this thing escalates. I have firefighter food in the oven and it has to cook at least another hour, so I'm not going anywhere for a while....I wish it had rained here yesterday or last night or this morning so maybe Tm wouldn't already be spending part of a vacation day at a fire.

And the floor is not getting worked on either. We are hoping to get it grouted, at least, before any possible rainfall occurs, and I'd like to get it sealed this week too. I'd be so happy to see rain (and y'all know it is more likely to stay north and mostly miss us because that is what always happens) that I wouldn't care if it interfered in getting the floor finished over the next couple of days.
