You've got to move that bed over to the right. you're letting the tv placement dictate this entire room. Can the tv fit on the wall above the cedar chest? you can always get a articulating wall mount that will let you swing out, up, down ,,,whatever. when not viewing, push it back against the wall.

you have a nice, large room and you're hardly utilizing it. What kind of bed, (are you wanting a king?) dressers are you looking at? budget? can you do a rug under the bed? The oval mirror could be replaced w/a leaning floor mirror.

I'd move that bed over, get some larger nightstands, and do a little seating area over in the corner w/those windows.

If you're going to have drapes on the windows, get a larger rod and place it higher, almost to the ceiling. trim out the windows if possible, and do some woven wood blinds like in this pic. your drapes will be for decor as opposed to actually blocking the light.

I would move bed over a bit more and hang curtains similar to in pics, like corner Windows and you may have room to put a nice chair in that corner

I would put the bed in the corner left of the windows and the TV right of them, on a swivel base or articulated arm.

Deco,,,,bed to the left of the windows?? that means one person is flush against the wall and right next to the bathroom. (or the headboard is against the bathroom wall) What goes in the huge expanse of room along that large wall?? The bed way over there would throw the room off balance. I'd rethink that suggestion.

I love to post pics of possiblity rooms. This might inspire you to make your windows a pretty addition to the room.

Paint the room a cool white with bright white trim. Find curtains and hang rod from ceiling, add white roman shades for style and privacy. Put down a blue and white rug that is large and will cover most of the carpet. New bed and matching nightstands with pretty deep blue lamps for contrast against the light walls. Sparkly ceiling light with bling.

And whole heartedly agree about centering bed on wall. The TV can be rewired to be higher etc for a nominal cost. I would flip the dressers as the taller one seems more elegant and put the TV about it.

Are you okay with the view into your bathroom if the bed is centered? The suggestion to move the bed closer to the windows allows you to still view your TV from bed without a direct view into your bathroom and it opens up the space on the other side for a seating area.

Hi, this room appears very bland and "matchy" I see that you are interested in blue... in that case blue walls but add a pattern or texture to one wall for accent. light color curtains; not blue ..perhaps beige ... consider a blue comforter of a different shade. Add gold accents. Play on texture with furniture. Refinish the dresser add some accent seating ... If you would like a professional consultation, let me know good luck!

Accent walls tend to make a room look smaller. Fill the corner with fuller CEILING HEIGHT drapes (with black-out lining or with black-out blinds). The room needs art and/or mirror.

Farrow and Ball’s BORROWED LIGHT is an excellent ceiling colour - no matter what you choose for the walls.

If you have to keep the tv and the bed in the current locations then I have a few suggestions.

Always choose bedding first. That is how you will choose the remaining colors.

I think the current dark drapes stand out too much if the bed must stay there.

After you choose the bedding, choose the drapes in a shade of gray, white, blue or taupe that will work with the bedding. Then take the curtains to the paint store and have them match the color.

I think wider nightstands would help out.

If you are stuck with using under bed storage I suggest bedding long enough to hide that area.

Thanks for all the ideas! I’ll try to post when we get things changed and painted but it probably won’t be a doable project until January or later.

One of the important things is moving the bed. Another important thing is getting better curtains and hanging them at the right height. We're going to add a few of our bedroom designs to aid you in your dilemma.

Just checking if you're really tired of the berry - unusual pretty... maybe striking lighting with just few crystals would lend a royal feel? :-)

Accenting 1 wall doesn't seem necessary with wonderful ceiling / its volume... the bed to me could have a bit more drama cause of the upward....

What do you guys think of dong something similar to this with the walls and then some nice ivory bedding and curtains? I think we will scoot the bed over so it’s not in front of the window. We will eventually get a headboard of some sort but the bed itself is new, we did not want a king size, and we don’t want a canopy.

Get rid of the tv and then you can make a bedroom. The tv seems to be driving the room. Personally I don’t allow TVs in bedrooms.

Well we did some trim, crown molding, paint and new curtains (hung higher and to the floor). It might not be what a decorator would do but we like it. I’m just posting these because I always like to see what other people have done. Now the flooring and bathroom small remodel decisions!
