So the walls are kind of white - white might be ok with either curtain color. Just noticed your lamp with burgundy detail... bedding or pillow could have that color.

With medium tone bedding, this could go? love the ruffly --

I'm a sucker for a dust ruffle. If large rug were aside, maybe a subtle patterned ruffle... just option.

Agree with the rug placement.

Put a king sized fitted sheet on the box spring or have a cover made for it in a pattern and have curtains made to match so you have a pair of something in the room. I personally think the dust ruffle would distract from lines of bed and add clutter to room.

Hang the mirror about five inches above the dresser.

If possible change out wall lamps to something more architectural; see pottery barn for some cool looks; the ones you have look very commercial with the goose neck bends. and spread them farther apart so you can put the art between them. Also put metal cord covers on the lamps to neaten them up a bit unless you choose ones with long cord covers included. See picture below

Pull the bed a bit farther away from the wall where the picture is now. Or consider putting the bed on the picture wall; you generally want to see the head of the bed opposite the entry way, but not always...exception to every rule but the bed seems to need to be more centered in the room....just a suggestion with the pictures shown.

The water bottle and room purifier? need to find a spot behind a tall plant or in the bathroom or kitchen. Try that and then take a pic?

Love this room; be inspired by it!

The bed with the curtains framing it are fabulous. Blue and white works well too because not too feminine or masculine.

What if you took away smaller rug and turn your rug around under the bed to run lengthways, more like my above pic, a thought

The rug is beautiful, but if possible, it would look much better to simply have one light-colored area rug beneath your bed. It will brighten up the room and match your bed decor and walls. It should also be placed perpendicular to your bed beneath it so that the rug sticks out more on either side, like the diagram that decoenthusiaste posted.

Measurements might be a bit different in person, since I don't know the exact measurements of your bed or room.

I'm not sure what your second rug is in front of, but a general rule is to have one rug in the room if you can help it. The rug should anchor the centerpiece of the room, which in a bedroom's case is the bed. It may also be a good idea to center the bed in your room and rearrange the furniture to accommodate it.

I liked the idea of removing the goose neck wall lamps and putting the picture there between the bed frame. Also, I agree with turning the big rug in the other direction.

If it is possible, maybe changing the rug to a lighter color as one user suggested. I think it would make the space come together a little bit more!
