In that space I wouldn’t if you don’t need storage for anything like a cable box.

Usually where people have something under a wall mounted tv for purely decorative purposes, it’s on a wall where if there wasn’t a tv you’d probably still want a piece of furniture there for balance in the room, or you’d expect some other focal point like a fireplace.

What made you decide to put the TV in a traffic path? No other options?

IMO we have no sense of this space so I for sure can’t really comment , this just seems like all wrong for T.V placement.
