Is the console for the living room storage or for the dining room and just in the living room because.......? What will you be doing in this room? Please pics of all four walls.

The console was in dining room but it is too deep for the space. I️ actually had this piece painted to go in the living room, but I️ now see it’s a little awkward here. Maybe with different furniture layout or something??

I️ was thinking a rug for the other side of the room and more of a glam look

I would put the console across on the other wall. Your room is very pretty and I love the third rug suggested. I would spread the chairs out and put a tray on ottoman. The only thing that is not in my taste is the mirror.

It's a lovely room that needs a little love! I think the console and mirror are too big and are effectively cutting the room in half so that the area by the built ins seems lonely and forlorn. Try taking the console out of the room, and try to see the room as a whole.

The other furniture seems too small and pushed into the end of the room & against the window wall. Why not try a conversation/reading grouping down by the built ins with your 2 chairs ? (the one with the back to the entry hall would make me nervous to sit in the current position)

It looks like you have room for 2 couches and perhaps if you pulled the current one away from the window a bit and had another facing it it might feel more conducive to relaxing and visiting.

Where the console was seems like a perfect place for a focal point such as a fireplace... I have seen some HOUZZ pictures where an antique fire surround/mantel has been added to a wall with no actual fireplace and it is amazing how that changes the atmosphere and focus.

I like the rugs shown above but personally would go for something bigger and more classic with some colour as the room reads a little chilly. Also I prefer drapes /curtains to blinds and that might help warm the room up a bit as well.

What about if I️ switch couch and console? Would that help? I️ paid to have that piece painted and no where else to move it. A fire place would be nice, but not happening.

Pull the sofa away from the window closer to the console. Then place the two chairs opposite the sofa. Rug, accessories, end tables, lamps

Mramsey, when you say pull the chairs to the built ins, can they back the dining room entrance?

Nice job Rochel. Agree with above, pull things over a little so things are centered to the console - and/or move the console to the left, the mirror will be off center to the unit (i.e. on the right hand side of the console) but we could perhaps put a lamp on the left to give balance.

Put the round table in between the 2 chairs.

Yes! I️ Love color. So funny how this happened
When I️ moved into this house a few years ago, I️ started to decorate without a clue.
Got cobalt blue for my kitchen counters, painted a green accent wall with orange accents and was ready to buy a purple sofa for living room.
All my friends kept asking me what my plan was with the blue counter, green wall etc.
I️ was so afraid to be married to a color when I️ got to the living room that it became sooo boring!

The console in front of window was a thought of mine that got knocked down. Reasons that it’s a little higher than windowsill and the mirror being over sofa instead.
Do either of those reasons matter much?

Personally like the chairs opposite the sofa. The round table needs to go back a bit, perhaps angle the chairs. Need to play around with it for a bit.

Shop around your home and see if you have anything that can go in your room.

I like the most current arrangement. Maybe have a table big enough for a chess game or card game or tea tray between the 2 chairs? I would then add 1 or 2 more substantial chairs with arms to the couch grouping.(not sure if there is room for another couch) Armless chairs aren't that comfy for long so might work better as a secondary seating area...

1 daybed reduces the lotsa furniture look [as opposed to 2 pieces] - with sofa?

Daybed with some pattern / or add your blue in rug.

Or 2 larger chairs by cases - in color that'd add some contrast [to wood floors].
