Renovating old Georgian house with light grey countertops and rustic natural oak flooring. Have 2 boys so I need something durable.

Main reasons going for Corian type:

1. Low ceiling height so dont want reverberation of sound as Corian absorbs sound.

2. Seamless sink (want to avoid cleaning that gunk that gets in between sink & countertop.

3. Dont like marble in kitchen anymore, dislike granite, and its not as hard as quartz so if kids bang something on countertop it wont shatter as easily.

Kitchen place where we are getting cabinets sells Minerva. But I am familiar with Corian. My mother has Corian countertop installed 20 years ago and it is pretty much as good as new.

Does anyone know the differences between Corian and Minerva??? Thanks!!!

So far I know:

Corian: Has a wood substrate

Minerva: Cheaper. Tends to be a solid surface all the way through.
