strange advertising

So... this was in a "HOME" magazine that I get locally. It appears to be an add for a local high end fixture store.

I would say it is obvious that I am not the target market for this - because all I can think about here is: "After I cheat death by showering in the water / electricity gauntlet, I can then easily step out, dripping wet, and settle into a leather chair and snuggle with a mohair throw, also while watching TV through the back of my head"

And I'd like to add where I would need to become anorexic so that I'd have a chance of always having my body in the stream of water, but even that probably wouldn't help me due to my bone build. Even just skin and bones wouldn't keep me inside that stream of water.

^^^ You mean it didn't inspire you to buy Axor fine plumbing fixtures from that local retailer?

(It made me think that they wanted to interrogate and electrocute me - maybe while THEY watched while sitting in the leather chair under the fuzzy throw.)

Now it's even getting MORE sinister.

I clearly am not classy enough to own such an item.

Reminds me of an ad I saw recently in a similar magazine. A large bathroom, larger than my bedroom, shower assumed to be out of the shot, and in one corner of a wall, a ridiculously tiny vanity-toilet combo. picture the letter J; The long part as the vanity, extending down and to the side for a toilet. As crammed (& uncomfortable seeming) as can be, in a bathroom as large as can be.
Yours though, beats it. Just when you think you've seen it all. Thanks for a good laugh.

Hmmpf, you plebes. Don't you know that The Axor LampShower does away with the traditional boundaries between spaces in an outstanding manner. Experience how the inspirational AxorWaterDream turned into an almost magical product which brings a homely character to the bathroom.

That first part looks like a set for a remake of Silence of the Lambs (it puts lotion on it's skin or it gets the hose...)

And the book reading looked so "magical"....

Thank you for finding that - it's amusing and yet deeply disturbing.

lol....I don't understand marketers any more...they don't even do their homework!

eg:The Axor LampShower does away with the traditional boundaries between spaces in an outstanding manner. Experience how the inspirational AxorWaterDream turned into an almost magical product which brings a homely character to the bathroom.

Funny, don't they know what "homely" means? Here is the definition from (anywhere, really): "lacking in physical attractiveness" (short translation: means 'ugly') why would you put a concept like that in your ad? There are people that misuse the word - so often it has entered into some of the online dictionary's.

    http://www.dictionary.com/browse/homely

homey is the word they (may) have been looking for....https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/homey

Back to the OP....you are right. Doesn't look like something I would want to do - get electrocuted in the shower and then destroy a leather chair recovering!

@Denita, that definition of homely only applies to American English. British English would use homely as meaning home-like. Since Axor is a division of a European company, Hansgroehe, their use of the word is correct.

@Denita, as someone born and raised in the UK, living in Canada, often in the US and with lots of Australian friends, I occasionally feel like I speak four different languages - all of them "English". It's surprising how many English words can have totally different meanings depending on which country one is in. :-).
