We have 2 benches along the 6 and 9 foot wall about 20 inches deep for sitting / laying down and two shower heads. Comments / suggestions. Thanks

its not to big as long as you have 30-40K to build it properly and hire the right crew. .

that's pretty damn big. 9x6? Are you going to have parties in there too? my shower is 8x4.5, and it's plenty big. Can't imagine another 2 feet out.

But hey, if that's what you want, then go for it, as long as you have the room and the cash. remember though, the larger the space, the longer it's going to take to 'steam'.

My shower (not a steam shower) is 5x6 and pretty darn big.

I fear your shower will feel like a high school locker room...

Is this a question of mobility device accessibility?

Yes my concern would be the size steam generator you will need to make this actually be a steam shower. When it’s just a regular shower I would be afraid it would be freezing.

If you have the neighbors over to shower with you, it'll be just about right.

While you are at it, why don't you add a disco ball in there too?

I wanted to make sure there was enough room for my 3 sister wives. We don't use a disco ball light in the shower just flashing strobes when we a practicing our twerking.

Seriously though this is a remodel. The toilet and shower drains are along the rear wall. And there is HVAC duct work about 5 feet off the rear wall. The width of the room is 12 feet x 15 the rear wall has the 9 foot shower and 3 foot WC.

See sketch which we are still trying to figure out the vanity location.

I'm curious and you seem to have the ability to laugh at yourself...it is a completely foreign concept to me to lay down in a shower, even a steam shower. I grew up with sauna as a regular part of our daily lives so I get the steam room/sauna idea but I just can't wrap my head around laying down in a shower.

Can you help me understand the appeal? And why this would be preferable to a luxurious bath?

Who is laying down .. on a tile bench .. in a giant shower? This is like McMansion-size. Once you start tiling the space it will be apparent just how large this whole space is. You need to bring in some elements to make it not so wide-open.

I would need about 10 shower heads to keep me warm in a room that size.

How many steam generators will it take to supply that space? And please don't tell us that it has cathedral ceilings.

I wouldn't lie down in a room like that unless there was a timer on the steam unit. If you fell asleep and stayed in there too long, you could have serious problems

    Way too big.

I have no idea how huge the generator qill have to be but hope you have allowed for that. The whole point of a steam shower is to contain the steam to keep the temperature constant and IMO that would be very difficult in that size space . I don’t think the steam room at my gym is much larger than that. Why not look at thr eally cool self contained steam showers on the market with a ton of features but smaller footprint.

And that’s the PC image. Almost every other image I googled tended to be NSFW adults engaged in “athletic activity”. Which is fine, if you want the adult film community’s newest on location shoot site.

For a normal human family not involved in memorializing their abilities on screen, it’s 4x too large. As I said on the other thread, it’s larger than many full 3 pc bathrooms in many homes still being built.

This op just dreaming with her hand sketch mess. Why bother trying to talk sense into a dream. The first thing you look at with a steamer is The electrical service, In remodels that alone usually kills A real steam dream.
