Washer Diagnostic Thoughts?

Our Blomberg 98400 front load washer just did a a very strange thing. I started a load on "Normal," warm water, extra rinse. I think the clock said it was a 1 hour 17 minute cycle. All was fine for a few minutes: water adding, some agitation, stopping to add more water, etc., just like always. Then water just kept coming in, and filling and filling and filling, until it was at least 1/3 of the way up the glass and I was planning what to do if it never stopped. The drum was turning throughout this.

Then it decided to stop filling and agitating, all the water pumped out, and with 1:12 still left on the timer, the washer just . . . stopped. No, "0:00 on the clock," no "END," no waiting for the door to unlock. The panel just went dark, I could open the door, and the clothes were an un-spun, soggy pile. Baffling.

Lacking a better idea, I decided to re-run the load with the same settings, and everything seems to be fine. It sounds a little noisy, but it may just be because of the jeans I have in there and that I'm listening more closely.

Does anyone have any thoughts? The load right before this mystery was done by DH, and, while I hate to point fingers, he does have a bit of a track record . . . :)
