Hi Folks, No ideas or opinions? Maybe 'can' lighting is the wrong word and no one knows what I'm talking about. ;-} Maybe a picture of the kitchen would help. Those florescents have been covered up with more ugly plastic webbing sort of panels. We removed them in order to get started. We're stalled. Thanks for any insight!

I had those type of lights in my kitchen too. I broke the plastic panels early on with the mop handle! I ended up leveling the ceiling and installing recessed lighting.

I like the pendant you posted. Will it provide as much light as those larger fluorescents and if not do you need the bright lighting? LED bulbs provide great light, and many options exist for color and brightness.

I've always liked track lighting - but concerned that it might be dated? Perhaps you'll get more opinions on that.

Hi Sonni1, Thanks for your note. We probably will level the ceiling. We're thinking of those copper ceiling tiles (me) or just acoustical tiles (hubby).

I'd need more than one of those pendants, either 4 or 6 for best lighting. But that may be too busy for that small space. Hubby is attracted to the track lighting, I like the recessed idea. We're still looking and thinking and hoping for more feedback here.
