I would also paint over the venting on the front of your gable, make it blend into the facade.

You definitely need some contrast in painting out the trim.

Consider extending your front garden bed outward in curves or a large semi-circle.

Congratulations on your first house!! What color is your roof?

Your home has a more contemporary vibe. If you want to upgrade to a garage door with windows, select simple rectangular windows with no grids.

Your current door is traditional. If upgrading your door choose something that is more contemporary (no raised panel).

If you want to add a fence, a simple horizontal rail fence would be more in keeping with the cleaner lines of your home versus a busy, picket fence.

@mmilos good point about the garage, I think that would help. :) For the fence, I was more referring to the one around the entrance, not the yard. I'm not too well read yet on the difference between fences, but I'd think the picket fence is the one in the yard? Or are they both picket fences?

Both fences have vertical pickets. Personally, I wouldn't add any fence, especially around your entry.

Congratulations Stacey! The house is adorable. I like the Photoshop changes you made with the entry door color and garage door style. You'll need the white fencing, or the white garage door stands out too much. I'd also look into getting a craftsman style entry door to go with the new garage door style. Btw_I recently replaced a six panel entry door, with a craftsman on the rear of my 25 year old raised ranch. I absolutely love the look and the extra light! In the Spring, I'll replace my front entry door with the same style...can't wait!

@housegal200 the pergola has def. crossed my mind. Seems a little bit cost prohibitive at the moment, but I'll keep it as something to possibly add at a later date. :)

It's hard to tell because you said your house is really an offwhite. From the pic you posted, what really stands out is the garage door, because it appears very white. It needs to be painted closer to the house color so that it blends in. Then we will be drawn in by the color of your front door. I would get rid of the small planting area between the door and garage as well.

Yeah, in person, the colors are all the same. It's the lighting. Once I get moved in at the end of the week I can get better pictures. :) Thank you all for the suggestions!

I like your house just the way it is, except for the landscaping. Plantings hugging the foundations are SO yesterday. Where are you located and how much sun/shade do you have in the frontyard ?

@Carolyn Choi, I'm in Florida. Def. want to mess with the landscaping! There's a lot of sun, but since I haven't moved in yet I haven't had a chance to really tell where the sun hits. From what I remember, its half sun and half shade. There's a couple of big trees in the front yard and I think the angle of it makes the neighbor's house block out quite a bit of the sun depending on the time of day.

Yeah it's still too close. I would try a shade or 2 lighter.
