Lithops: Looking for reassurance

Or advice!

I’m a complete novice with Lithops (not with cacti and succulents). These two came in via eBay in early November, in bare/unpotted plugs. They arrived earlier than expected so the fine roots dried out before I was able to pot a couple of days later. The large one arrived post-bloom with the seed pod like that. They’re potted in an equal mix of pine bark, calcined clay and turface. I watered them once immediately after potting. They have been living indoors under a 12 hour plant light.

Yesterday I noticed both are feeling soft (not firm) and they are developing wrinkles at their bases - the smaller specimen more dramatically. In panic I watered them for their 2nd time but now realize I probably shouldn’t have, if they’re developing new leaves. Fortunately the soil mix is very quick drying and the room has good ventilation.

What do you think - is this how they should look when they’re just beginning their transition? The best plan of action is to just let them be for the next few months - right? I would be grateful for your input!
