when the roof needs redone, choose a better color.

The house is located in NC. Agree the shrubbery in front of the porch needs to go and a new more colorful bed installed.

The roof has a few years left on it and a different/ darker color would be a big improvement!

Had not thought of painting window trim& door- that would give more interest and achievable on a modest budget. Thanks :)

I agree the bushes have to go .. expose that front door , maybe a nice new paint color for it. Something bright. Also consider planting area on right side of garage. Most small nursery’s typically have some software they can use to do a basic design, bring a digital copy of your house. Add a focal point in the yard . Something to break the focus on the body of the house.
Look for easy plants no one wants to spend days in the flower bed . Unless your retired .
Hydrangeas always complement .
Check your sun exposure . Try to get a good idea of how much you get everyday, and pick your plants from there,

Sonya, it's very pretty! I agree some new landscaping and paint will add a lot. When the time comes, a medium gray roof would be nice...very neutral when it comes to other colors on and around the house.

Your house is far from ugly. I agree taking out the bushes in front of the railing will help, or perhaps you could trim them into topiaries.

If you like having windows in the garage doors, then I would eliminate the corner treatment that is blocking the end ones. If that's too big a project, then replace the window panels with a closed panels to match the lower ones. The picture frame trim on the windows is a bit unsettling to me. I would expect more traditional windows with mintons in this style of home.

It's cute. The garage doors are an icky color and a better roof color should be selected when it's time, but this is a long way from ugly!

A nice walkway, when budget permits, should be considered, but this house will be extremely presentable with minor stuff.

I get lots of ideas by walking/driving around neighborhoods noting components of the landscaping, especially what and where things are planted, if I like the look. I think your home would be really enhanced with a narrow pergola over the garage doors and would paint them black..you need something to grab the eye as the siding and roof are monotone and you need a bit of impact and interest.

since the roof slopes toward the front if the garage, would a pergola still be appropriate? you usually see them on the peak end.

I think if you squared off your garage door openings, and beefed up your columns (can’t tell if they’re round or square....I’d make them square), it would be a great start in enhancing your curb appeal. I didn’t space the columns evenly (they would look better if they were properly spaced), but this gives you the idea. Also tending to the landscaping as pointed out by others would help a lot.

Your home and lot already have significant curb appeal. Do like the flowering tree in the foreground as well as the post fence on the right side of the home. Healthy looking lawn is a huge plus.

Definitely remove//move the bushes directly in front of the front door -- trimming rather than removing the rest might be best as long as you create a solid hedge rather than one with a gap in front of the porch railing. Read up on trimming the kind of shrubs you have. The ones you have may need to be trimmed at an angle to get them to grow thicker rather than have the trunks show.

Painting the front door a bolder color to make it the focal point of the front of your home is well worth considering.

Budget permitting, adding a forward facing gable above the front door is worth considering -- especially if it extends about 3' beyond the front of the front wall of the garage and becomes a covered entry enhancing the front door as the focal point of the front of your home.

Like the shape of the garage doors and the windows in them. Painting the garage doors the same color as the home would make them less of a focal point.

Outlining the driveway in brick or paving stones might be worth considering, especially if on the front door side of the driveway you created a sidewalk that stops about a car length from the door using the same brick or paving stone -- stops so you're stepping onto the sidewalk rather than the grass as you get out of your vehicle.

A sidewalk need not be straight: by creating a curve/circle for your sidewalk, you could also be creating an outline for a flower bed and one part of the curve might curve toward the driveway while another curves toward a front yard patio:
