General Air compressor

I am looking for a small air compressor that will principally be used to inflate tires on my lawn tractor, van, and car. I am currently using the following

Pittsburgh® Automotive 12V 100 PSI High Volume Air Compressor

This works great for the tires on my lawn tractor, passably for the car 33psi, but takes about 10 minutes for the van 38 psi.

I have looked at the following at Harbor Freight.

Central Pneumatic 3 gal. 1/3 HP 100 PSI Oilless Pancake Air Compressor

But other than being 120 volt, I am not sure it would be an improvement and inflate the van tires any faster.

Anyone willing to make recommendations for something that is in-expensive, relatively fast to pump up tires to about 40psi; and can be set on the shelf and forgotten until it is need. When needed plug it in, pump up the tires, and put it back.

I have a Craftsman Inflator. 120v .60 SCFM @30psi. Model 75121. Cost was $50-60 5-7 years ago. It works on my bicycle, SUV, boat trailer and even my travel trailer tires. I have not timed it, but I think I have your 12v times beat, maybe by more than half. Travel trailer tire felt as if it took less than 5 minutes, load bearing. The unit is about the size of a football.

Just check out Home Depot or Lowes , numerous units within your requirements without the shipping Hassel's bro !

Craftsman Model 75121 is still being sold by Sears. 12/12/2017

For the purpose mentioned in my original post will I be happier with a direct fill pump where the air is pumped directly into the tire; or one that you draw from a reservoir and the pump replace the air the reservoir?

Buy a used pancake compressor from Craigslist. You can get it as low as fifty bucks. I have been using one I bought from Craigslist and it serves the purpose and beyond.

i have a craftsman # 75118 inflators , works well. read reviews on that harbor freight compressor.
