Ken, I will probably curve it out generously in at least one more place, eventually... but can only do that down at the end where the lawn gets wider... have to leave walking room between the patio and bed... and that's where it slopes - so I don't want to make it too hard to walk through that area. I'm thinking I need another big shade tree and (of course) more hosta!!!!

I do hope that everyone’s holiday travel will be safe and that the weather cooperates.... and after that, I hope you’re right Ken- I hope the real winter starts... with plenty of cold and at least some snow. It’s so dry here, but not consistently cold yet. I’ve been watering about once a week - watching for the warmest day, then running the sprinklers.

Windy, I should stick some flags in my snow for color, lol.

I'm already tired of winter, but at least my plants are dormant. We got snow a couple of weeks ago, and it's still coating most of my yard. Sprinklers are off, hoses are disconnected, ground is frozen. I'm up high enough in the mountains for it to be 30s during the day and 20s at night, but not high enough to be above our smoggy winter inversion layer. ~cough~

Good heavens! We have snow and icy temperatures--it was 8 when I went to the office today.

We’re having similar conditions. This should make the hostas happy!
