Hi,

We are about to replace our very old tile roof with a composition roof. We have an older house and it has an old-style tile roof, with no decking under the tiles. So when we replace the roof there is nothing up there but rafters. I am wondering if it would be a good idea to add on a bonus room above the garage. We have a nice size attic, (it's a 2 and a half car garage,) but it is not tall enough so the roof would have to be raised. It is a detached garage, but there is already a game room over the carport- basically it would allow us to extend the game room to a much larger size. Has anyone done something similar? Would this be a super expensive project or a fairly easy one? We are in the middle of a whole house remodel - we're in Houston and had over 4 ft of water from Harvey, and we're trying to put the house back together the way we have always wanted it.
