Depends on the model #. Some of them do not have a rubber washer or gasket on the guage so are you sure there was one? Some Presto models that use rubber gaskets sell the whole set of 3 needed gaskets in one package, some models that don't use them sell the "gauge fastener parts" in a separate set. Yeah, it definitely had a little white washer when I put the gauge on the lid. Gonna have to check the model number when I get home but it sure looks like the fastener kit is what I need. Thanks a lot, Dave.

If that doesn't do the trick I wouldn't hesitate to try the hardware store as you suggested. A washer is a washer pretty much - either silicone or rubber. JMO

Yeah, I think I will just take a trip to the hardware store for a washer. I was looking at the shipping and regardless of what website I look at the fasteners will cost more to ship than they are worth. I'll test the canner with just some water in it to make sure the washer doesn't give out and that the canner holds pressure before trying to can anything.

Ace Hardware Stores often carry parts for canners. Maybe not all brands, but I have bought parts for my Presto there, including gaskets, and the little black rubber plug (can't remember the name off hand). I even bought a weight set from an old-fashioned feed store/hardware store. Also, try your manufacturer. I have also bought Presto parts direct from Presto. If I recall correctly, you didn't have to buy a whole kit, but could buy the little things independently...and inexpensively.
