Saline soil

I live here on the Texas Gulf Coast and, even though I live a couple of miles from the bay, the ground water is affected by the ebb and flow of the tides so that the soil is slightly saline. Some plants, like eucalyptus do well, while others, like willow don't do well at all. I was wondering if Bambusa malagensis would fare well in these conditions. I see where it's salt tolerant, but I don't know if that refers only to salt air. If this would not be a suitable variety, does anyone have any suggestions to species that might work?
