Hello all,

I'm looking to purchase a couple of citrus trees/bushes. Up front: I live on the border of 7b/8a in an area that sees humid summers in the 90's and lower 100s, and winters that CAN get down to single digits, but generally only have a few days that hit 15-20 range. Planting site is within 10 feet of the house on southeast facing side, close to a cement patio.

With that out of the way, onto the suggestions part. I have an Arctic Frost satsuma (which I've read mixed reviews on, flavor-wise), and I'm looking for another variety that will be cold hardy enough to survive, but offer me some REALLY good citrus flavor that I'm not fully accustomed to. I've read good things about Owari, but I'm still collecting input.

If it's useful at all, my interest in citrus piqued when I tried some random citrus variety at our botanical garden. It was hard to peel, loaded with pith, but holy smokes, the flavor was out of this world. Sooo tangy, tart, sweet, and unlike any other citrus I've ever eaten. I'd love to get something that could compare, but perhaps be less difficult to peel and eat...hence the hope that satsumas fit this bill...

I'm also looking to plant some other type of small citrus bush that will also be well protected...something like a kumquat maybe, but I'm new to the citrus game and totally open for suggestions.
