If you just want to make the water smell and taste better and remove chlorine, a simple carbon filter will do that great. You can have this done for under $100 and it doesn't take up much space. Filters are $20-35 a year. Done.

If you have a specific contaminate that you need to remove - you need to say what that is.

Yea, missed that, I'm doing a water test to see what the results are and then go from there to see what works based on the test results.

Do you have city water or are you on a well? If you have water from a utility, then you can google their Water Quality Report and post a link.
